My Tipping Point

Recently in a facebook group I am in, I was asked to share what my tipping point was...I thought I'd share with everyone. Maybe it will encourage or motivate others.

My tipping point...
My first tipping point was about 5 years ago. I was asked to be in my brothers wedding and I knew the other bridesmaids were tiny little things and I was not. I didn't want to look like a big elephant in all the pics, so I signed up for weight watchers and got a personal trainer. In 10 months I lost 70 pounds and felt great. I figured I could do it on my own so I dropped the trainer. I was wrong. I put that 70 pounds back on way faster than I had lost it. And at the time, it was what it was. I didn't seem to care too much. Then I witnessed my mom loose 60 pounds without stepping foot in a gym and without being on a diet, just changing the way she ate. I also witnessed our lovely Jen loose all her weight. I started thinking. I am only 27 and I want nothing more than to be married and have a family. But at the weight I was, there was no way I would be able to be active with my kiddos, and I didn't like that thought. So on February 15 I made the decision to change the way I eat. I stopped drinking pop and energy drinks, I stopped getting fast food, I stopped eating ballpark food, I stopped eating cookies/donuts every day at work, I started eating more fruits/veggies, I started eating more protein...I started eating HEALTHY!! And shopping the perimeter of the grocery store. I feel GREAT!! It's been the best decision and healthiest decision I have ever made. To this day I have lost 51 pounds :) I still have quite a bit more weight I would like to loose to get to my "goal/ideal" weight. And I know I will get there. But until then, I keep on keeping on with being healthy.
